If your student wants to attend university in the US or Canada and you’re not from either country, you’ll encounter a lot of words and phrases that you’ve probably never heard before. You may speak the King’s English, but there’s a whole new vocabulary you’ll need to learn.
Googling new terms can produce confusing results—Google EA, for example, and see what comes up! Early Action is not an electronic gaming company, but it may be a way to optimize your student’s application strategy.
Not knowing a term could even cost you money! Do you know what the CSS Profile is? It’s the College Scholarship Service. Don’t worry, I’ll talk about that in another post.
Let me be your Vocab Coach. Check this blog regularly for words and phrases related to college and university applications and enrollment.
If you run across a term or phrase you don’t understand, please send me an email. I’ll answer your question and include it in a future blog post.
